Spike Update! ❤️
Spike is doing great on his weight-loss journey! When he first came into rescue, we learned that his previous owner loved to spoil him with lots of people food and treats. He’s adjusting really well to his healthier lifestyle and is making great progress.
Despite his past, Spike does not beg for food or treats, which has made sticking to his diet much easier.
Spike is a little wary of strangers and will bark to let you know someone is around—even after they’ve left. Once he trusts his people, though, he’s incredibly sweet and affectionate. He absolutely adores his foster mom and loves nothing more than curling up on her lap or relaxing beside her in the recliner.
He’s getting along wonderfully with both his fellow foster dog and the resident dog in the home.
Spike has also learned to bark to let his foster mom know when he needs to go outside. He loves spending time outdoors and can be a little stubborn when it’s time to come back inside!
Overall, Spike is a calm, easygoing little guy. He’s not much of a toy player—he’d much rather spend his day relaxing and soaking up love from his favorite person.
We’re so proud of the progress he’s making and can’t wait to continue sharing his journey with all of you.
If you are interested in adopting our little buddy please fill out the adoption application on our website
🌟 Spike is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and is estimated to be 7 years young. 🌟

💙 Meet Toby, a Chihuahua mix
Toby was found as a stray in Okeechobee County with no one coming to claim him. We took Toby straight to Dr. Skinner’s for a full veterinary exam, bloodwork, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, and fecal test. We’re happy to report his heartworm and fecal tests were both negative!
After his bloodwork and initial exam, Toby will be neutered and have his umbilical hernia repaired—all covered by My Why Rescue. Other than that, he’s a healthy boy who is less than 1½ years old.
We’re ready to start looking for Toby’s forever home!
❤️ Potty trained
🐾 Walks well on a leash
🎾 Loves to play and would do best with an active family
⚖️ Weighs just 14 pounds and shouldn’t get much bigger
🦴 Loves chew toys
🥰 His favorite thing? Snuggling on the couch with his favorite person.
Toby also enjoyed a nice bath. He was a little nervous at first, but afterward he looked and felt like a brand-new pup!
Think Toby could be the missing piece to your family? We’d love to hear from you.

🐾 Ruffus Update 🐾
📍 China
We asked for Ruffus to be completely shaved, as the rocks, dirt, and fleas where he is being housed have become a huge problem. The infection on his face has already started to clear, and for the first time in what appears to be a very long time, he received a much-needed bath.
The amount of dirt and grime that came off this poor boy was heartbreaking. It truly seemed as though he had not been bathed in quite some time.
We would love to bring Ruffus to Florida, but we need either an adopter or a committed foster in Palm Beach County willing to open their home to him while we search for his forever family.
🚨 Without a committed foster or adopter, we cannot bring Ruffus to Florida. 🚨
Despite everything he has endured, Ruffus remains a beautiful Golden Retriever with the sweetest soul.
❤️ What staff at the detention center have shared about him:
• Approximately 5½ years old
• Extremely intelligent
• Playful and gentle
• No food aggression
• Friendly with people and other dogs
• Respectful and submissive around other dogs
• Kind-hearted and well-mannered
Dogs like Ruffus deserve to know love, comfort, and safety. We are committed to helping him heal, but we are still desperately trying to raise funds to save the other four dogs as well.
If you would like to help:
💙 Zelle: MyWhyRescue@outlook.com
(Best option — no fees deducted)
💙 Venmo: https://venmo.com/u/mywhyrescue
💙 PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/
Please share Ruffus’ story. Every donation, share, and prayer helps give him—and hopefully the other four dogs—a chance at the life they deserve.

Thank you for your continued support. ❤️

Chance has officially been neutered and is recovering beautifully. ❤️
The black markings you see on his back aren’t dirt—they are permanent scars from the pain he endured. The scar around his muzzle is another heartbreaking reminder of his past abuse. His previous owner burned him and wrapped an iron wire tightly around his muzzle so he couldn’t make a sound.
No puppy should ever have to experience that.
After losing Chester, we saw Chance and knew we had to save him. Sometimes a dog just finds a way to speak directly to your heart, and Chance did exactly that.
Despite everything he’s been through, Chance is exactly what a puppy should be—playful, curious, goofy, and full of love. He’ll need a family willing to provide patience, consistency, and basic training as he learns what it truly means to be safe and loved.
Could you be the one to give Chance the life he’s always deserved?
Say YES to Chance. Open your heart and your home, and be the reason this sweet boy finally gets his happily ever after.
🐾 Apply to adopt Chance today and give him the forever home he’s been waiting for.
